Why does my customers name not appear all the time?

If you’ve noticed “N/A” appearing in place of your client’s name on your Tippy account, you’re not alone, and there’s a simple explanation.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

When a customer chooses to use the “tap to pay” method, the payment processor may block certain information, including the cardholder’s name. This is a built-in security feature designed to protect sensitive data during contactless transactions.

Want to see your clients name?

If it’s important for your business to view the client's name, you can politely request that they insert their card instead of tapping. Chip insertions typically allow more data, including the customer’s name, to be transmitted securely.

Keep in mind, however, that some customers may have their names intentionally hidden through their credit card provider or bank settings, regardless of the payment method.
